External Rendering to Primary School Extension

External Rendering to Colton Primary School Extension
Marshalls of Leeds

We were instructed by Marshalls of Leeds, to carry out the external rendering to a new extension to a primary school.

The colour was chosen by the architect as it is said to have a calming effect on children.

The application entailed rendering and ruling off a base coat of a bagged render product to give a smooth surface to work off.

Then once the background has had sufficient time to dry, it is primed in the chosen colour, this stops any of the render beneath grinning through the topcoat, giving a uniformed appearance of colour.

One the primer has been fully rollered or painted on, a top coat is trowled on using a plastic float. The chosen grain for this contract was 1.2-1.5 mm grain Uniform finish.
